Cork

The beautiful Ditchley house was built in the late 1700s by Arthur Henry Julian. In 1958 the Ellis family made it their home. After their purchase of the property O’Flynn Construction opened the doors of The Radisson Blu Hotel Cork in 2005. Since their grand opening the hotel has seen over 920 couples have their drinks reception in Ditchley House and their wedding meal in the Great Island Ballroom.

When walking the halls of Ditchley House, guests can see a room named after the Ellis family, after Rick Fitzgerald, who built the hotel, and also famous Cork areas. The hotel was then bought by iNUA Hospitality in 2013 who have revamped it to the hotel we know today. The hotel and Ditchley House now sit on nine acres of land with an impressive 126 bedrooms and an array of state of the art facilities such as, a leisure centre with a Hydrotherapy Pool, a Spa to get prepped before your big day and a function room which comfortably holds up to 420 guests for larger days and a private drinks reception within Ditchley House which the Hotel is built onto.

Although the Radisson is only a 10-minute drive from Cork City when couples come to host their wedding reception here they feel like they are in their own little world.

Ditchley House has its own private Garden which acts as the perfect backdrop for outdoor civil ceremonies, drinks reception and the very important family photos.

For Couples who wish to host a more intimate celebration Ditchley House offers a beautiful space to host Weddings of up to 40 guests.

Our Wedding Manager Zoe will meet you from your first enquiry and will ensure that you will have the Wedding of your Dreams.

If you wish to get ready in the Hotel we recommend one of our interconnecting bedrooms with our friendly staff preparing your own private breakfast buffet in the room for you and your party to nibble on, as the preparations for the big day begins. As you get ready, our dedicated team is downstairs making your dreams a reality. After your meetings ahead of your wedding, our wedding manager Zoe knows you like a best friend and ensures the team knows exactly what way the room is to be set down to the last fork!

If you choose to host your Ceremony at the Hotel, our team will be on hand to welcome your Wedding guests into the ceremony room ensuring that the first two rows of seats are reserved for intimate family and the wedding party. Once the Ceremony is ready to begin our Wedding Team will be on hand to ensure that you are ready for your ceremony. With a thumbs up from the wedding team, you will make your way down the aisle and officially start off your big day. After the ceremony, your guests are guided to the beautiful Ditchley house where the drinks reception takes place. Here you can greet your guests, and truly celebrate becoming newlyweds whilst enjoying some complimentary drinks.

After this the wedding team rings the bell and guides the wedding guests into the ballroom where our experienced team takes their orders and makes them feel welcome, while you relax or have the time to take some photos. Once all orders are placed our Banqueting manager with their microphone in hand, encourages your guests to cheer and wave their napkins in the air and announces you into the room. As the speeches take place our kitchen team with over 40 years’ experience begin prepping for dinner service. Our dedicated kitchen team prepares each dish to order with care to ensure perfection. Directed by the banqueting manager the team commence a smooth food service and before the guests know it, they are up on the dancefloor having a dance with happy full bellies.
